It has indeed been lashing all day here in Toronto......and I feel that I should hold my hands up and apologise. According to my boss today has been 'damn Irish weather' which of course, I am repsonsible for importing.
I apologise to all concerned and I hope it will be over soon.

Glad to see it meself. Good for the grass. Don't want to be paying last year's prices for hay again.

Glad someone's happy. Heck, if I start seeing green grass round here I'll be gettin' all nostalgic.

and there's that old oak tree I used to play on.
Down the lane I walk with my sweet Mary, hair of gold and lips like cherries.

Or......
I'm bidding you a long farewell, my Mary kind and true
But I'll not forget you, darling, in the land I'm going to
They say there's bread and work for all, and the sun shines always there
But I'll ne'er forget old Ireland, were it fifty times as fair.

They've got cars big as bars
They've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old
Not that it's about Canada but that's how it feels out there tonight.

Ah, Mr MacGowan. A fine example of why cutting back on the drink is a good thing. Well maybe.

Through a turbulent life the one constant has been the ironing. I remember a woman with whom I lived for a couple of years mainly by the box pleats on her white pants, a throwback to the era of Dynasty. I hated those pleats.

Now there's a thing I just don't understand. Ironing. Why? I owned an iron once, but no ironing board. Suffice to say I have never once ironed anything. I don't believe I look at all crumpled, my bed sheets are fairly wrinkle-free. I'm sure there are more pointless household tasks than ironing, but right now I can't think of one.
