Aren't all those brands (mostly) owned by the same parent company?
I even googled Findus Faggots - I'm sure they used to do that too - but Mr Brains came up instead. |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I'm on strike today.
So fed up of the kitchen sink getting cluttered with dishes, pots and pans etc. Today it was impossible to get a small jug under the tap to add water to the Keurig. It's supposed to be my stepson's job but he always makes it into a major chore when 10 minutes after supper would clear the sink and draining rack and allow additional stuff to be added to the dishwasher until it's full for another run. So earlier on I said I was going on strike and not doing supper tonight. So stepson emptied the sink and stepdaughter later asked what was for supper. They thought that meant I had called off the strike. "How long are you on strike?" I said 24 hours and then tomorrow I'm working to rule. They've been scrabbling around for what to do. There's even a pot of spud and carrots ready prepared from yesterday to make a mash. There's fish, chickenburgers, sausages, other veggies, all sorts of stuff they could use to make a meal. Even tins. Mother in law has just sent stepson out for McDonalds. I'm having a salad. Hopefully I've made my point. |

I did something similar about 5 years ago when my son and his friend (who was staying with us for 6 months) didn't lift a finger. I wrote them a note, pinned to the fridge telling them that the 'kitchen cleaning and washing up fairy' had gone on strike.. as had the 'cooking fairy' and the 'bathroom cleaning fairy'. I reserved the ONE clean plate, mug, glass and cutlery for myself and put them in my bedroom.. and left everything as it was. That continued for 3 days. They finally got the hint. |

Brilliant, although in an industrial dispute wouldn't you be considered to be Management? You should at least start cutting benefits and maybe threaten a lockout of the kitchen area until your demands are met.
But this way I can stay grounded. Thinking about it some more, it's not really an ongoing dispute as such, more a wildcat action. |

Didn't Mr Brains just be Brains in the past? I don't remember the Mr part at all but the packaging is instantly recognisable.

Now that you mention it, as financial backer and money manager perhaps I should be management. But this way I can stay grounded. Thinking about it some more, it's not really an ongoing dispute as such, more a wildcat action. . . . . . and then put it in their bedroom. :p |

Drat it. According to the website none of those Findus products are at our stores. The flyer says NB, PEI and NS. I'm hoping the website's just not updated yet.:fingerscrossed: |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I wish smaller companies would get useful websites, and not rely on FB. Facebook is the most annoying way to try and buy something.

ROTFL in sympathy at your kitchen strike & woes. BTDT. 24 hours wildcat action may not be sufficient. :( ETA: put my glasses on, looked properly, & did find Findus "filets de poisson à l'anglaise" in the WM flyer. |
