Very sad. Youth is a minefield.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I had a conversation with my daughter last summer, just after she told me she was moving and I told her her my biggest achievement was getting her to adult hood, fit and healthy and independent enough to our make a move on her own, she thought I was mental.
She was working with this young man Friday night, she'd worked most of the Christmas run up shifts with him. Her coworkers and management team decided not to tell her until this morning as yesterday when everyone else found out was her birthday. I wouldn't be surprised if we find that the young man was under the influence. I had every emotion at 8am this morning when she called - worry, (at the time she called) followed by panic (when I heard her crying), relief (that she was ok) and then sorrow for those poor poor parents. It's so very sad. |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I certainly know why the heater can't keep the place warm, and why the electric bill is so high. Poor poor insulation, and lots of cold air seeping in through the window frame, and along the bottom of the wall where the wall and floor meet.
Along with the previous found places where cold air comes through. And to top it off, apparently the boiler which in the garage can't heat the water well in these cold temps, warmest I could get was luke warm 85F water tonight from the hot tap. For a 3 year old building, it's sure is a piece of junk... Showing up more and more in night auditor job ads. "Post-secondary education in hospitality" |

Hopefully you may get to hug your daughter soon . A friend of my son was arested yesterday selling drugs at school. I was really shocked. My son wasn't, which is more shocking. Why can't kids just stay at a 'safe' age..... |

It was the lads funeral today. I am always amazed at how quick funerals happen here.

People in Alberta being charged a carbon tax for family cremations.
You couldn't make this up if you tried. |
