Site C dam will continue, the cost to cancel at this point too great, cheaper to rate payers if they just finish the boondoggle started by BC Liberals.

I saw that and I had a good chuckle - I mostly shopped at Aldi in the UK and it always felt like a great cardio work out

In the UK you have to pack your own groceries in every supermarket.

I prefer to pack my own. I don’t want the potatoes, cauliflower and carrots on top of the loaf. In NJ the packer put a tub of ice cream on top of a hot rotisserie chicken.

Disappointed to see / read about all the condos being built in Hamilton; not only have we had an influx of Torontonians, now we have their designers / real estate people buying up tracts of land / buildings to knock down, to build condos in what was once a really nice city with great architecture - soon to be despoiled.

I'd move away from the area now, if I could afford to.

And wont help affordability for rent and will end up displacing people who are from Hamilton making them relocate.

Same in BC, tear down affordable older walk up apartment buildings displacing those who live there, build expensive condos, and then act all surprised rents wont go down, well duh build expensive condos its not gonna help the rental market.

A few have gone up here over the years - rental vacancy rate was temporarily high for 2 to 3 years before slipping back to more normal rates as people moved into town.

Yesterday I had to go to Dieppe, also a growing 'city' (within greater Moncton) and I came back through it rather than bypassing it for the first time in a couple of years. So many condos/luxury apartments buildings sprouting up. Not replacing anything and quite nice looking buildings, mind you, but so many.

At least here they've not spoiled existing architecture and not made much difference to the scenery.

3% vacancy rate is generally considered a healthy rate, works for both sides more evenly.

Below 3% and it starts to skew very heavily in favor of the landlord, and by the time you get to 1% and below, basically tenants have no power or choice in much including where they live, becomes a take whatever your approved for first as there might not be anything else before your move in date.

3% though keeps things a little more balanced.
