Went to Lifelabs for bloodwork; the sample from last week contained too much cholesterol for them to measure so I had to fast this time. Home half an hour later for a small single malt, coffee, and sausage and eggs.

I knew Costco was just released on IC platform nationwide, but wasn't aware non-members can order from Costco, looks like its a way around the annual membership for those who can't justify paying an annual membership but want to order once or twice a year from Costco.

Article about it.

The lab in the Kelowna area needs a more modern looking website.

Just got an email from my sister about her trip to Penticton yesterday for x-rays.. there's a hospital in Oliver so I thought that's a bit silly, and I see in your link she'd have to go to Penticton or Osoyoos for bloodwork too. I guess if they ever had a lab in the Oliver hospital it wasn't worth keeping, and you can't have all facilities in every town.

Only so much money to go around, have to concentrate some facilities, same with Squamish often had to go to Vancouver for medical care, you can get basic stuff in Squamish like x-ray and GP, but CT/MRI/most specialists require trips to Vancouver and any serious trauma/health issue requires going to Vancouver.

Having a big kitchen means I can cook again. I hate our last kitchen so much, was too small and cramped for me, I need my space...

Have a look at the housing you can get for $199 in Ottawa....you need to scroll through all 21 photos to get the full picture. Even the mailbox has given up :)\

It's hard to even say which room the guy died in.

Someone was a hoarder. Family probably doesn't want to deal with it, hoping someone will buy it land value only and deal with the mess. (I am assuming its land value only.) bet could still get 1/2 million or more in Vancouver for it.

My wife's estranged father is a hoarder, I went there once, its just like that TV show, and let me tell you the show doesn't do justice, the smell is so bad.

Of course he calls it all treasure when reality its just junk.

On you tube there is an abandoned house video an urban explorer did, the person who lived there was dead for a time on the floor, the outline of the body still there from the fluids, other then that house probably hasn't been touched since the day she died other then someone collecting the body.

I'll say this if how people leave hotel rooms is any indication of how people live day to day, then a good majority of people don't live in clean well kept homes, oh man people are so bad when it comes to hotel rooms, best thing you can do as a guest upon check out, place all the trash in the trash can, put all the towels into one pile, that saves housekeeping so much time.

I never found Costco a good deal, sure things come in bigger sizes, but they are not always cheaper per unit, and sometimes actually more expensive per unit.

At our level, Costco isn't worthwhile unless you want to eat the same 3 or 4 things all month

I found 2 places in Kelowna in the 175 to 200k range, both are mobile homes, pad rent on one is $535 per month.

This appears to be the cheapest freehold for sale, 349k

Even the "affordable" places in BC are not really affordable.

If only NB had good disability support. Land of cheap houses there. ;)
