Seems they settled on Thursday.

I would rather have them do this during the day when its light.

You would think when they develop these buildimgs they could manage a way for the commercial and residential to be on seperate systems so commercial would not affect residential.

Last Sunday, to my horror I found that I'd purchase Maple flavoured bacon rather than straightforward smoked bacon. I've lived in Canada for almost 14 years now and am aware of the Canadian predilection for adding Maple or Cinnamon to everything but my word did it smell/taste bad. The family (Born and bred Canadians) ate it but I had to have toast and Robinsons Golden Shred instead. I shall be more diligent next time I'm at the grocery!

Ick, maple smoked bacon! You'll be reading the bacon packs like a demon from now on :D

When I first moved to the UK from Australia, I bought a ham/bacon hock to make pea and ham soup. As soon as the hock started to simmer I knew something was wrong - it smelt revolting! It was unsmoked, and although Scouse liked the soup I wouldn't touch it. Couldn't get smoked hocks in Liverpool, so I ended up getting them sent from a butcher in Scotland. While I was at it, I ordered corned silverside as well - even after I'd explained to the butchers in Liverpool what that was I had no joy. Apparently chucking a piece of beef into brine amounts to sacrilege.

I've had some pretty darned good maple pork sausages, can take or leave the maple bacon but don't mind it.

AX, shame on you for succumbing to the purchase of the maple, that is as bad as buying maple beans or beans and pork - vile stuff.

The beans are okay, I just throw away the so called pork.

And a good example that things are not always so straightforward for many health issues.

Victoria housing and health advocates say this isn’t an isolated case and that many other vulnerable people living in shelters or on the streets are not getting the care they need because of their poor living conditions.

Hopefully they'll find a place for him. If there are enough people in his situation a dedicated apartment building would seem sensible but there would have to be potential for patients to live there for a couple of years in some cases. A friend of mine beat non-hodgkins by basically staying in his apartment for almost that long (outside of doctor appointments and treatment) and having food brought to him. You can't go out in the crowd with 0 immunity.

To be clear, I didn't intentionally purchase maple flavoured bacon (even typing it makes my gorge rise) but picked it up by mistake. I will strive to be more diligent in my examination of bacon packaging in the future...;)

Great. The building intercom system isn't working, I have a perishable package arriving tomorrow, and UPS wont be able to deliver said package because their drivers apparently do not carry phones and cannot call (according to UPS customer service.) and without the intercom the driver will have no way to contact us upstairs and wont be able to even access the building.

Unless someone happens to be downstairs and lets the driver into the building and fobs them to the floor, but then the person would need to live on our floor since the fobs only permit access to the floor you live on.

May have to skip DBT and sit in the lobby all day, original plan was for MIL to wait in apartment for delivery, but the intercom system will be down until Monday or Tuesday.

We are not in a large building with a strata with the money to have a concierge or front desk type lobby..

Being Friday, if not delivered tomorrow wont be able to pick up until Monday and that would be too late.

One of many many reasons I hate apartment living.

Hard to sell used aquarium supplies locally, the local groups have little traffic these days.
