It was a fun day... but so long ago (and now my life has changed .. in oh, so many ways)!

Met a Dalek and have a Blue Peter Badge for something separate. Your friends must have been really envious. Even I am now.

So for he last few days I have reading the comments about the brawl in the nail salon in Chilliwack (for anyone that does know, this is the story)

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/beta.ctv...1_4042921.html

its very much either they agree with the customer refusing to pay and being locked in or with the nail salon for not allowing her to get away with it

I think they are both to blame as they both don’t portray themselves well in the video, however $76 does seem high for fake nails IMO

lol!
I was exceedingly lucky with competitions when I was a nipper - I also won this dress from the 'Lady Penelope' comic!

I was presented to Lady Baden-Powell and had my photo taken with her when she came to my brownies pack. (Sadly I no longer have a copy of it, the newspaper cutting got lost many years ago)

I was up Portobella Road (where I used to play the organ in the Forbidden Fruit Cafe) with my best mate Billy when we met Sid Rawle "the King of the Hippies" lol

Then there was the day I was sitting on a tussock at Bromley Library Gardens where David Bowie was quietly practicing on the bandstand, all alone,, a happy afternoon indeed. A year or so later, I went with my friend who was friends with Angie and had afternoon tea with her and David at their flat in Beckenham. He was sat on the sofa and I was gaga, lol
This is what they looked like back at that time.. not my photo, I hasten to add...

Fast forwards a few years and I was fortunate enough to be asked to work 'overtime' at a lock in at the club I worked at part time (saving up to go overseas) and the owner walked in with Freddie, Brian, John and Roger.. and I had the great honour of speaking with Brian and Freddie briefly when they came over to the bar to order drinks.

No photos or autographs .. it just wasn't done back then.. but I have my memories :)

Crazy Friday night in Seattle. A Horizon Airlines ground service agent employee stole a Q400 turbo prop, and took the plane for a joy ride before crashing onto an Island south of the airport about an hour later, also managed to do a barrel roll of sorts at one point. Does not appear he had any experience flying aircraft, and authorities and the airline don't yet know how he learned to start the aircraft and fly it without any known training.

Horizon Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alaska Air Group which also owns Alaska Airlines.

Communications between the man and Seattle Approach controller who was talking to him and encouraging him to try and land the plane.

Heard the ATC-rogue pilot chat, seems that he was not up to anything sinister. "One more barrel roll, then I'm done for tonight."

The report that I saw said that the island where he went down was sparsely populated - I hope that no-one else was harmed?

That island as of the last census had 17 people living there. The plane crashed in a wooded area and nobody else was hurt, although there was a small fire as a result.

Very happy to hear that no-one else was harmed in this bizarre stunt. Thank you.

Trying to to a south america biotope of a slow moving stream in the rain forest where the fish I have in this tank originate from. They come from slow moving rivers and streams that tend to get little sunlight and limited plant growth in these types of rivers.

Once I changed the tank, the fish behaviors became more natural.

Happens often with AC and Westjet.

I flew in and out of Calgary recently from Ottawa and was quite impressed with the speed that the luggage got off the plane at Calgary and was literally going around the carousel by the time we arrived there. Same thing at Ottawa airport on the return journey. Our seats on the flight to Calgary overlooked the off loading area so while we were waiting to leave the plane we could see the operation down below as the staff quickly checked the suitcases to see who journey ended in Calgary.
