Where DOES the North begin? The North/South divide is under scrutiny again - BBC Three
Based on the first map shown I grew up on the north/not north line which could explain a lot about me. I love the quote that the north is 'not a place but a state of mind.' Watching that video makes me weep for the future and the appalling lack of just basic general knowledge. We all laugh at americans and their lack of knowledge about basic geography/world events but this video isn't far off. |

Just been looking at an article on that place to see where it is. Quite convenient if you're "a stone's throw away" in Arizona ;) They're being done apart and two of them require something more specialist than usual (2 for $3500 1 @ $1000) so maybe two would be more than $350 US each. Out of curiosity I checked flights - about $1000CAD return. Convert the $1050 US to CAD = $1400, so $2400. Maybe extra for the 'complicated' two and then accommodation/other costs over a couple of weeks. Might not be too much difference overall other than seeing a new part of the world that doesn't really appeal. I suppose I could always be kidnapped and have my teeth removed one at a time and sent back with the ransom notes. |

In my mind, the edge of the South approximately follows the northern borders of Glos, Oxon, Bucks, Beds, cuts across the middle of Cambs, to the Norfolk/Suffolk boundary.
Beyond that, "Here Be Dragons." |
