Yeah , there is a reason for that...

Trying to make people sick and generate more patients for yourself?

Haha we have plenty of those. Summer is heaven for him. Just more difficult when they are buried under a foot of snow. He has never hibernated yet, and I am frightened to attempt it. Cannot think where I can maintain the right temp.

I have been drying weeds all summer, I have even potted some ready to bring indoors when the temps start failing - yes I am frost protecting weeds - who would have thought????

I haven't yet hibernated mine but am seriously thinking this year. A lot of people use the fridge method. If your on FB then tortoise addicts is a really good page. People are talking about hibernation already on there.

I have two Hermanns - what do you have?

Just the one Hermann, about 10 years old. I am always worried I'll forget to open the fridge, and we have fairly regular power cuts. Will check out the page, thanks. I've never thought about drying weeds! (Well not for the tortoise, ;))

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread

Traffic would move more smoothly if Vancouver would do a few things such as dedicated left turn lanes, left turn signals on all lights, dedicated right turn lanes and not permitting street parking at all on major arterial roads so all lanes are available for use.

A lot of the reason for congestion I notice on my route to/from work are cars turning left and thus blocking the left turn lane backing up traffic, and cars slowing to turn right. Not having turn signals and having cars do left turns in front of oncoming traffic isn't safe or efficient, some cycles only 1 or 2 cars end up being able to complete a left turn.

Vancouver reminds me of San Diego in the 80's before they modernized the road system there. (not talking about freeways.)

There was a car accident on my way home, minor one. The car behind me got hit from the rear while we were stopped at a red, luckily the car behind me wasn't pushed into my car.

It's nice and cool today, feels wonderful.

40 large cans of lager
1.4l rye whiskey
1.4l vodka
750ml tequila
3l red wine

One person is the designated driver so won't drink so this should do us.

Compared to the other two I don't drink that much or that early and I don't do drugs. Well, that's not entirely true but not a lot.

1st time there has been a incredibly low turn out of buyers at the car auctions, we'll be keeping our Rovers for now methinks, but if anyone wants a classic, there are some cheap prices in Alberta, online bidding available.

Got any photography tips? Hopefully it'll be sunny and will be taking scenic as well and people fishing. I have a basic Nikon d3200 with the lens that came with it. I'm thinking I should go a buy one of those lens hoods as someone said it'll stop the glare. But my pictures tend come out a bit rubbish. They seem better when taken with my phone. I seem to be okay with my GoPro as the videos come out a treat, it's just the still pictures that are naffed up.
