Now Now. The last thing you need is to be arguing when one is flying and the other is navigating.

bringing this back on topic , which part of the requirements don't you meet? If it is the PDUs then one of the intensive weekend PMP exam prep courses might be a good investment. they'll sign off on the PDUs and let you keep taking the exam til you pass.
I think learning tree do a good (but pricey) one
if it is just the hours , I don't think I would bother with the CAPM
I looked into it , but don't realy think it is worth the hassle if you are aiming for the PMP

It's the hours.
I'm not a PM, but have been leading software development teams for a number of years now, and as well as development activities I've always done a lot of PM activities (Planning, reporting, risk management/mitigation/log maintenance, attending project boards, fire fighting (a real metaphorical joy) etc...), but never with the badge 'PM'. I never 'owned' a budget (if a PM ever really does), but input into and helped manage project financials.
In an attempt at increasing my marketability, I was looking to shore up my skillset by adding the certification and it's a role I know I can do.
Cheers

You can be suprisingly creative about logging your hours. There is no need to have the title Project manager , as long as you can show that you have been actively engaged in the planning , implementation etc of projects.
I think the PMI have a forum like this one ( only not nearly as cool) where you could probably get some guidance on that.
I have never had tht job title PM but I can log hours

Thanks Zoe, that's interesting.
I'll look up that forum and see what advice is given.

Very true. If you've got the experience you say I'm sure you can say you've had specific hours in implementation etc as Zoe says.
