Default Prince Phillip

Retires at 96! It's debatable whether meet & greets are real work, but after 71 years of public service, I guess he can be given the benefit of the doubt. He seems incredibly sprightly for that age, and generally, he's been a good egg. Hope he enjoys a long retirement.

More work than it appears, especially at that age !

Good for him, a long and mainly successful public life culminating in well earned retirement. More than many UK MP's can boast, spending decades polishing the seats of their trousers in the House of Commons, having done little more than turn up, their over riding priority in all things being self interest!

My understanding is that, at 96, he rides horses every day, drinks a lot and doesn't give a shit what people think. I may not admire him but I'd certainly like to emulate him.

Still rides? If true, that's remarkable. I know he's played a lot of polo in his life but watching his public appearances the last few years it looks like walking is a chore.
Maybe a little riding provides a beneficial workout, and that's what has kept him as spry as he is.

She has no helmet! How on earth does her riding school get liability cover?

Meine alte freunde Siggy lived through Bomber Command's assault on Berlin and he doesn't give a shit either, I suppose once you've been through the Blitz....

I would posit that the world's wealthiest woman is, rightfully so, not too interested in others having liability cover for injuries to her. It would make interesting reading, the lawsuit would.

Having unlimited money available combined with advanced years provides one with much liberty as to one's conduct. What would/could HM do if he pissed her off?

Oh yes, I should have thought of that. Maybe she doesn't even attend a riding school, maybe she has her own horse and keeps it at home.

I understand that the retirement if off. Apparently, he had an ATOS work capability assessment and was deemed fit to work.
