I will have to disagree, Harry was never interested in being a royal, cant blame him for that, but I admire him for his active front line service in Afghanistan, pity he couldn't have picked a better partner, someone with a little more class. However William has always been different, for a start he has a totally different personality to Harry they are opposites (most siblings are) William knew as soon as he was old enough to understand, that he was born to be the future monarch.... he has had a head start on the Queen who was never meant to be monarch. but will be similar to her in his devotion to duty, he is still only young, but I think this sense of duty will become even more apparent over the next 10 years or so, couple him with Kate (who is a class act who also understands the level of duty required of her (who incidentally Meeeeagain could learn a lot from) and you have an excellent team who are devoted to their future role as King and Queen.
Just my opinion of course, but William and Kate are held in very high esteem by the most of the British public and they are the future if the monarchy. I personally don't have anything against Charles, I hope he proves me wrong and makes a worthy King, but I feel hasn't inherited the neutral political stance of his mother, and keeping political opinions to himself, also in some ways he is not as in touch with the public as William and Kate are seen to be. In the mean time, long live the Queen! :britflag: I really do like the idea of the apolitical Head of State, vs the elected President/Prime Minister/whatever. It's so much more civil than when you have someone like the trumpoid representing a country. Charles seems to have got better at keeping his mouth closed about political things as he's got older, and got closer to very possibly being the Head of State himself. |

Cannot even bear to watch Harry's latest cringe-fest with Oprah.

I find it a bit rich that Megan disses the Royal Family and their family dynamics when she has removed herself from her fathers sphere, her step sisters sphere and has left people in her wake and others in her world that she removes herself from when they have served their purpose. About the only one she removed herself from for good reason was Piers Morgan the ultimate name dropping toady. |

It's really bad now, isn't it??
Making a fortune out of blaming your family for every little thing. I feel really sorry for the Queen now as she listens to what he has to say. There's a lot to be said for keeping things quiet, with your therapist and family. Certain Americans are loving it! |

Agreed....Oprah and her touchy feely gobblygook is perfect for those two grifters. The Hollywood luvvies will believe anything that these two say about life in the outbuildings of Windsor Castle grounds.

You would think someone who has served in the military (in combat) and had enormous international experience in the charity sector would come up with a better vocation than self-pitying Hollywood documentaries. I like Megan before all this blew up, and I don't usually subscribe to the 'evil woman' myth, but she does seem to have cast quite the spell on him.

It is not a coincidence that she has alienated herself from her father, family, childhood friends and now he has done the same. What is the common denominator here?

I'm not one of Americans. I couldn't have cared less about the goings on with the Royal Family before and if it is possible, I have minus zero interest in them now. But I do love reading on BE about all of the viewpoints of expats.

Re: Prince Harry and Meghan ......
Harry turned off a lot of Americans after his statement that the First Amendment of the Constitution was "bonkers".
