No. Her nationality does not come into it at all . She certainly isn't all Americans is she thankfully. It is her behaviour , actions & her words that mark that one. That is all.

Ref. Harry . That will all depend on just how much he carries on as he has. Certainly whinging on about how hard done by he/they are will not have endeared. Personally atm I am unsure who wears the trousers or if there is a pair of them in this. Whichever it is all rather ugh.

Seemingly more lies .................

childhood friends are saying she LOVED Princess Diana, read everything she could, had pictures of her on the bedroom wall, watched the wedding over and over.

Visited England when she was 15 with a school friend, photographs taken of the two girls sitting on a fence or something with Buckingham Palace in the background. That photo was published in the UK papers back in their engagement period, and again in the past few days.

Adult friends have said she researched Harry before going to meet him on that "blind" date ..........

and on and on and on.

She darned well knew a whole lot more about the Royal Family, and Harry than she let on

Plus the way M has casually let it be known through Gayle whatever-she's-called that Harry had spoken to both William and his father, and the calls were "unproductive".

The person who objected to a private letter being published, now telling a show host on American TV all about private conversations between her husband and his family.

It is not good is it. I dunno. Whoever is advising and driving this whole debacle is a bit of a pile of poo really.

FWIW I feel this pair have missed a real chance to lead the quiet private life for the good of the family and their children , whilst working in a philanthropic manner as was seemingly stated at outset.

I'm really not sure that a fascination for 'Lady Di' and some photos taken outside Buck House equates to knowledge about who's in line for the throne and who gets what titles and why.

Well, I am sure, one doesn't mean the other at all.

I've got photos of me at the Palace, I've been inside (not the public tours), I've had an etiquette session with an equerry about the awards ceremony, followed by "and what do you do?", I have a video of the occasion and the MBE certificate is on a wall at home.

Do I know the names and titlles? Nope.

What's driving this train wreck is a young woman and a gullible loved struck man who will do whatever is necessary to make his wife a happy person. She knows her husband well ... his insecurities, resentments and jealousies. She knows how to play him and seeks her revenge through him. As a result she is doing unknown irreversible damage to a family and more importantly to two brothers who were close as twins especially after the tragic loss of their beloved mother.

She wanted to be treated as a royal princess and as a newcomer and as a mixed race woman, I'm sure her ego told her that she would garner love and respect from all around her. She courted press and was angry when the press didn't glorify her but instead found fault with her manner and behavior. She soon learned that being a lower level royalty, not equal to her brother and sister in-laws, did not live up to her ambition and dreams. Thus, she and her husband sought press coverage relating to her many disappointments and perceived snobbery of her in-laws.

She felt that the closeness of the family would draw her husband closer and thus enable her to hold a high standing within the court. Her logic was flawed and there was no pleading to remain in the UK and within the court and special good attention given to them by the family. What has been accomplished is a husband who has not only cross the bridge but started the fire that is burning it. He is lost and lonely for the life and family he left behind and trying desperately to make a new one in the US with his wife and son. He now has only associations with people who do not share his heritage or his culture and he is adrift in a leaky boat on the high seas.

The press is eating this relationship for High Tea and she is glorying in the press as it will help to keep her name before the studios and bring offers of new work in the future. She is a mediocre actor whose career would have floundered and died after the series was ended.

This is a sad story and one I wasn't really interested in from the start. Now I just long for it all to go away and the corpses to be laid to rest.

Perfect summary. You have Meghan summed up perfectly. Harry is not going to come out of this well. Are they able to secure 'real' jobs other than spouting their mumbo jumbo on Spotify or Netflix. It is a total car crash and I usually have no interest in the Royals and find them a relatively minor annoyance as I live in Canada, but this airing your dirty laundry in public and through the world of Oprah and her hangers on and the US media types is not going to end well.

I bet he got it for a good reason too, not because he'd made a squillion pounds as a popular actor or muso.

I like the sound of the Most Excellent Order of British Expats. Bummer that I'm illegible (intentional sic!)

It would be interesting to see how many MBEs are are also MBE(expats)

I was there the same day as actor Christopher Lee and novelist/lone yachtswoman Clare Francis.

You were in good company. Christopher Lee is in North Africa in WWII at the same time/places (not 'with') my father. Brave dude.

Perfect summary. It is a very sad state of affairs, I feel Harry has never come to terms with his mothers death like William has. So blames his family and the institution he was born into, and thinks he can find happiness in the narcissist called Meghan, I can relate to this, he cant see the wood through the trees, but sadly this is not reciprocated she is just out for herself and what she can get,

Harry is just along for a ride, in Me-again's car crash life, when he is no longer useful to her, which will probably be hastened by the fact that in what you said "he now has only associations with people who do not share his heritage or his culture" cracks will start to appear and she will divorce him, and Harry will be out on his own in a foreign land that he has no connection to.... although it wouldn't surprise me if his family still took him back after all that....knowing how mentally and emotionally vunerable and unstable he has been.....but.... there is only so much trashing the family can take. I would imagine William (who has been through the same experience, but still taken his duty very seriously) is beyond livid with his brother, and rightly so.

Good post. I can understand her not fitting in and having miscoceptions about her role and don't think she can be faulted for that. However, her reaction to it, her vindictiveness and hypocrisy is troubling. Also, at c.38 and well into her second marriage, I would hardly call her a young woman. It's a shame, until this Oprah interview I was on balance rooting for her, and now I feel those people who had telling me she's bad news were perhaps right after all.
