Re: Prince Harry and Meghan ......
I know that's what's usually said but I never accept it. The annual interest on "only" $1m is more than some people earn and nobody is asking wealthy types to do that.
If you're used to a penthouse suite when you stay at a hotel, fly first class, dine at the Ritz, drink the best champagne, own six $5m villas in glamorous locations around the world, you don't have to maintain that lifestyle, unchanged.
Sell 5 of the villas and just live in one. You might not be able to afford the hotel suite as often as you'd like but half a millio a year interest on the money banked from selling the villas is just about manageable. not to mention $25m rainy day money.

If I won 1 million today, could probably live off the returns and increase our quality of life. I haven't even made 1 million in the 24 years I have been working, looks like I am roughly up to 650,000 lifetime earnings so far, so maybe by the time I die if I live another 25 years, I might make a million total lifetime earnings.
Back when I was at the airline still our CEO was low paid by CEO standards at 500,000 a year, but in general he made more in 2 weeks than the average employee did in a year, and 1 1/2 weeks he earned more than a flight attendant which at the time was 13,000 a year.
Tis life the top always gets the pie.

Plus richer people "loan" them things ......... such as the mansion where Harry & Meghan stayed on Vancouver Island. The same Russian allegedly loaned his yacht to Adele and friends.

His Mum's Queen of Canada so I assume he is a member of the Canadian royal family, so wouldn't he have the right to live here???

He absolutely would, just like my family goes back through many ages in the U K...so I would have the same rights? Which of course I did, so I (or my handmaidens etc) would have to go through the whole pile of paperwork? Wouldn’t he? Or it might seem like nepotism to say the least?

Isn't the whole point of Royalty nepotism?

His mum is not the Queen. It is his grandmother who is the Queen.
But that was the question I posed in the OP ................ does that give him the right to emigrate here without fulfilling ANY of the requirements expected of anyone else wishing to enter Canada?
From some of the things I've seen on the internet and in the media ......... this question IS being asked, eg it seems that they have to be careful how much time they spend in Canada and in England because of taxation. They could end up getting doubl;y taxed if they get it wrong.

I see that the MailOnLine has identified the owner of the property on Vancouver Island as a Canadian ................ Frank Giustra.
If true .............. he's not exactly squeaky clean. The local media have tried to follow him and his business dealings for years!

That'll do nicely, and financial independence, well that's what you get when you work for a living?

Well Mama has given Harry and Meghan permission to split their year between Canada and the UK. We in the US are thankful they have not chosen the US to call home.
Can Brits live in Canada for six months? What about Americans? I know that Canadians can live in the US for six months (live, not work) but not sure if it is the same the other way around.

180 days for most visitors but not guranteed. Visitors cant work so presumably if they want to work they will need apprpriate work permits.

Their/her declared intention is to live (and work) in Los Angeles, but only when Trump is no longer President.
They will then say farewell to Canada, probably without saying thanks for the $500,000 a year that Trudeau is said to have promised to pay for security while they are in Canada..
That could be next year if Trump is defeated, or after another 4 year Presidency ........... unless he changes the Constitution to allow unlimited terms or permanency.
