The rubber doesnt do well with the weight of the snow on it...
Usually the whole things gets dismantled and stashed away... .didnt fancy that this year due to the number of wasp nests Ive tackled in it this year.

This is a typical footpath around here. As you can see, the freeze-thaw process has left it covered in jagged ice ridges. It's very slippery, people frequently fall. It's -6 or so (centigrade) at the moment and there's a fierce wind. Walking the dog is an unpleasant business.
