The Vancouver Canadians I've met are at least as shallow and snobby as any Brit. Before I moved to BC I was amazed at how much they knocked certain cities in the GV area. At first I humbly took their advice, but subsequently discovered the advice was complete tosh, and the observations were based on ill-justified information, prejudisms and general lack of sufficient local knowledge. I ended up narrowing my choices and living in an obscenely expensive area which offers little for our money.
