Another Day in the UK. Another member of the Catholic Clergy plus a Politician caught up in a potential sex scandal. Just an average everyday occurrence.

Nothing to see here - Move along please......

Did they not? That seems a bit unlikely to me. I would have thought that Catholicism and sexual exploitation were closely enough linked in the popular perception that anyone signing up to be a choirboy or a priest would do so in the expectation of having to deal with rods and staffs. I think it's a bit disingenuous for a young priest to claim surprise when expected to beat the bishop.

Better be careful with all these jokes about his holiness, unless you want to burn in hell for eternity.

But Jesus forgives ALL sins, right?

If this isnt the case it seems there will be a strong waft of burning priest on arrival, or do they get a different deal for being naughty?

You can probably tell, Im not much of a believer......

The LORD forgives all sins, as long as you repent (truthfully). Not all the priests will do that, some will go to hell. It is the Lord's way.

Definitely not my area of expertise.....

Does the Bible actually say we need a Pope and all the other hangers-on?

It does say that Jesus appointed Peter to lead the apostles and Peter became the first pope, so indirectly yes. It's a long succession and all based on the word of God.
