A valid point indeed, and one worthy of development. But having the like of Abu Hamza as the Holy See would give the cardinals penetration into new developing markets where there's a bit less emphasis on 'rights'....

This is bass ackwards. Abu Hamza and crew are already penetrating British and European markets and dispensing with quaint notions of tolerance and modernisation.

Did you get their autographs?
I am sure it'll be another pope in the late 70s at least. |

Re: The Pope
Well, if the Mod's are away...
The Pope and Queen Elizabeth were standing on a balcony beaming at thousands of people in the forecourt below. The Queen says to the Pope out of the corner of her mouth, "I bet you a tenner that I can make every English person in the crowd go wild with just a wave of my hand." The Pope says, "No way. You can't do that." The Queen says, "Watch this." So the Queen waves her hand and every English person in the crowd goes crazy, waving their little plastic Union Jacks on sticks and cheering, basically going ballistic. So the Pope is standing there thinking, "Uh oh, what am I going to do? I never thought she'd be able to do it." So he thinks to himself for a minute and then he turns to her and says, "I bet you I can make every Irish person in the crowd go wild, not just now, but for the rest of the week, with just one nod of my head." The Queen goes, "No way, it can't be done." Spoiler:
Now that's a Pope that might bring about change. |

Re: The Pope
Just looked at the betting with PaddyPower (Had to be)
Latest Odds Cardinal Peter Turkson 3/1 (Ghana) Cardinal Marc Quellet 7/2 (Canada) Cardinal Francis Arinze 9/2 (Nigeria) Cardinal Leonardo Sandri 6/1 (Spain) Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga 7/1 (Honduras) Cardinal Angelo Scola 8/1 (Italy) Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi 8/1 (Italy) Turkson is only 64, the Canadian 68 but I think Scola was favourite last time around.....but he is already 71 couldn't find a price for Dougal which is a shame :rofl: |
