Mountains, scenery, space - exactly the reasons want to live in Canada...........not so sure about the bear though
How close/safe were you, and do you see them often ???stu

Ok, so I cheated on the the Grizzly - Grinder & Cooler are rescued bears that are kept in an enclosure on Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver. Managed to take that picture by leaning over the fence...
As for black bears - they are very common, but you hardly see them. They are more afraid of you, then you are of them.

Wonderful group of folks there. If you are coming down to dallas road to walk the dog, you should come to gonzales beach. Its a smaller beach when the dogs can run free from september to june. Its really a beautiful little beach with lots of nice folks. Bring a book and lunch and let the dog run free and enjoy the sunshine.....!
I loved your pics by the way.

went to the island last weekend. Was very impressed with Sidney by the sea. and also downtown Victoria. Loved Chinatown!
Victoria was actualy quite smaller than i expected. we had NO trouble finding our way around. people were very friendly and the food was great. Lots of sunshine the first day then lovely light drizzle the next. I enjoyed that.

All the photos are great - it is nice to see "real" areas and not just post card stuff.
