Isn't EBay parting company with PenPal???

http://money.cnn.com/2018/02/01/tech...split-adyen/in

" EBay (EBAY), one of the world's biggest online marketplaces, announced Wednesday that it's dropping PayPal as its main partner for processing payments in favor of Dutch company Adyen.

The news prompted investors to offload PayPal (PYPL) stock, which fell more than 11% in after-hours trading."

They are but apparently will still offer pay pal as an option for the 3 or 4 years.

When you sell on eBay and the buyer uses PayPal, you pay both eBay selling fees and PayPal fees for the privilege. It was E bays own pay and receipt conduit which they have hived off.

It was a way for eBay to double tap those that sold stuff, mainly secure and convenient but it was costly. I sold tens of thousands in coins through eBay and it irritated me that I paid twice.
