How long you been there Wendy? Reedy?
I'm glad in one way that Oz shuts the door on anyone aged over 44.saved me making a choice of where to leave UK for :) I've been here just over two years. Going to apply for Citizenship soon. You can still get to Australia if you're over 45, providing you have a skill on the list and go 'regional' (All of South Australia is regional). But Canada is supposed to be nice too, and is somewhere we thought of when we decided to abandon ship - we chose here because the opprtunity came up first (and I have family here which helps!) |

I love my State - and it doesn't close early really. Good nights out to be had in the City too
I think it's just QLD or maybe Perth that's boring. I can't wait to visit - we are going to drive up in the summer :) Perth is like a big seaside town in my opinion - nice though :).... Funny how all the capitals are very different / unique!!!! Lau x |

At the moment think I'll stick with Canada......nothing against Australia but I like the idea of having a summer and a winter in the right places....lol it strange really because in the early 70s I was 2 weeks away from emigrating as a £10 boat ride to Hobart in Tasmania.......our neighbours went and are still there........my dad changed his mind at the last minute....:) |

It is really strange having Xmas in the summer, still aren't used to it yet and doubt I ever will be :D I think that life has a funny way of taking you where you are supposed to go, so perhaps Aus just wasn't the right option for you and Canada is. |

Yeah the season thing is a bit strange!!! Not sure what Xmas in the sun will be like, we flew on Xmas day and when we landed on 27th it was 40 degrees.... New Year's Eve reached 46 in Melbourne!!! The kids have the 6 week hols then though - so get chance to play with their Xmas pressies and can actually go out and make plans!! I didn't realise until we moved here just how big Aus is as a country - I flew to Perth a few weeks ago and it took me 4 1/2 hours:eek: I could fly to Africa in that time from the UK!!! |
