Not too sure, what's daiquiri? I've heard of it but never tried it. Is it just a name of a drink, like a cosmopolitan or is it a liquer? Sounds quite posh and I'm just a common old garden welsh girl.

Well I am not willing to be drawn into an argument....but let it be said that I understood that with Susan there had been feelings of inability to join in because the thread had been going for so long. Many seem to have only recently noticed Susan's existence, and felt a little isolated from from joining in with the thread for their own reasons and felt the forum had little to offer for general chatting with people and things Canadiana - going, coming, sharing and general life experiences to boot etc.. We did say that Susan was welcome to all. However, I can not control what other people feel. Yes I know that there is the lounge but I can imagine that there are people who would rather stay within Canada portion of the Forum.

So, as I thought I had made perfectly clear, this is a new thread....with a very different tone to others. Other Forums have a bar and not that it is anyone else's business I have sent a PM with regard to Bar opening and I am currently waiting a response.

So, in the interest of capturing a wider audience from the offset - as I felt was made clear in those first few posts, this thread is a general place where we should all be able to co-exist peacefully without the need for needling and stabbing each other all the time with this thread and that, and all the ill feeling that has been stirred up recently.

If people are not willing to enter and to engage in oral intercourse with other people then life will be very sad and I can not control who does and does not post on a thread. But, by engaging in small talk with other people, one can learn a lot about a number of different subjects including ones self. God forbid, we might just learn something that we didn't know either....

If you feel there is good reason to speak with the Moderators be my guest, but I feel that they will see that this thread was offered as a hand of friendship and does not attack any one, nor is it personal, and it is a new thread by which people should not feel intimidated or shy to join it.

In my experience - which I have to say is largely in the last month or so, the Moderators only seem to interject when the site rules are being broken and/or it has been bought to their attention. I won't argue the point as I am not an expert, but the recent deleting / merging of threads was due to their nature of hate and bullying and personal attacking of other BE members and other actions I understand were taken on excessive use of foul language which was found to be unacceptable by other members...but as I say I am not an expert on this subject and will bow to greater knowledge.

You and I exchanged plenty of pms recently on the subject and as such I thought you should have the idea I am not a controversial person. I genuinely felt that there was room for this thread.

As I have said, I can not control who posts on it....I just hope that this will attract the wider audience you hope for and by being unsupportive will not help its cause. It is actions such as this, when the many who look in, see the cat fighting and decide not to participate.

It is this which hurts the Forum as a whole...not threads which are duplicates of others. If they are that bad, they will die a death....It is the people who participate which maketh the thread and the forum....so to speak.

Please join in and use it as a space to talk about things YOU want to discuss / share / know / enjoy / read / see / do..... you never know, it might surprise you. I don't mean that to sound in any way patronising....we've just found out we're triplets....and all share the same birthday....that wouldn't have been discovered without this thread.

Not to mention - you have to admit the title is pretty good for a pub

Not much to tell really, went on holiday, my sister has a pub in Cyprus...anyway this girl kept coming into the pub, having a drink and a chat...and me being me chatted away to her....She even when out clubbing with us.....this one night me being me, asked her if she had a boyfriend to which she replied...no. im a lesbian and i've the hots for you.......i put here straight and we have been friend ever since....she still fancies me tho'.....lol...or so i keep telling her....
