Panama Papers

Money is more interesting than Wikileaks...
David Cameron left dangerously exposed by Panama Papers fallout | News | The Guardian
If Cameron or his family stands to benefit from this then it's difficult to see how he can stay as PM.....
I seem to remember in the past the Guardian has made use of offshore companies though....

If he were a man who trades on his reputation, like the deranged but transparently honest Corbyn, then he'd be in real trouble. However, to discover that while Cameron's dong was in the pig, his nose was in the trough, won't be a real shock to anyone. He'll tough it out.

I don't see that. He's a Conservative Prime Minister, his policies are to take from the poor and give to the rich. He's rich. People will expect his personal tax affairs to be dodgy.

Unless Cameron is a contortionist, which seems unlikely, you'd need a pretty small pig to pull off that stunt.

What the press is studiously trying hard to not mention is that these documents apparently show a sharp drop-off in business since 2009, which was when the new information-sharing agreements came into force. Cameron and various other people tried very hard to crack down on tax havens when the recession was going full tilt, if you remember.
Try opening up an offshore bank account now and getting a debit card linked to it, not easy. Especially if you don't want to appear in person. You can get USD accounts through a Canadian bank and some have US affiliates who will issue you a card as well, but try some other currency.

And because we all need a laugh on Fridays google "That money was just resting in my account Pete Wilson". It will take you to a 20 sec Father Ted remake on twitter.
If anyone is more tech savvy than me (pretty much everyone) please add the link as I can't seem to get it.

Every now and then we get a pitch for setting up a similar arrangement, it doesn't seem to be a bother to arrange but it is expensive. If you're shipping $1,000,000/yr or a one time huge slab of cash then it works but, for hundreds of thousands, you may as well pay the tax (unless your personal reputation or political position requires you to seem a bit sly).

That is the rub of it. It is quite simple to hide your money away from the taxman but it is very expensive. You have to be rather rich not to pay any tax at all.
