Olympic Opening Ceremony Show
#50
For the first time since moving to Canada five years ago, I actually felt homesick watching the Olympic ceremony. I'm not sure what segment got me feeling this way, but thank God for the Mr Bean part to cheer me up a bit.
Just shows. Beijing may have spent gazillions, but you just can't buy class.

Mr Bean

My 6 year old kept watching it over and over again (which is the reason why I still havent seen the whole ceremony)

Stella MCartney dressed Team GB!
Did anyone see Patsy and Eddie running with the flame? Fab!
I didn't get the dance while the lady sang Abide with me and could have done without Macca.
Anyone notice the Tardis noises and why did Voldermot have a nose?

NBC, didn't show the abide with me / dance segment, which was a tribute to the 7/7 bombings in London. They choose to show an interview between Michael Phelps and Ryan Seacrest. That about sums up 'merkan media, but not as much as the two commentators not knowing who Tim Berners-Lee was. "Well I don't know who that is, perhaps we should google him". Oh the irony.

Just watched it last night and was totally impressed.
Loved the beginning flying through the gorgeous countryside and into London. Loved the Industrial revolution with the music, spectacular!
As others have said, the NHS, GOSH, the lighting of the flames, amazing!
I will watch again with my kids later
