Well, i couldn't believe, it is October, and it is SNOWING in the UK. looked out of my window to see a considerable heavy snow fall, unfortuantely for those of us who love the whole idea of snow, snow men, snow fights etc, it has rained all day and will not settle, but still, it's snowing all the same!! I know cant wait to get to BC in the middle of next winter if only for the magnificent snow!!!!

Where in BC are you going....? You may be surprised by the very lack of snow in some places....

Any snow you get on coastal BC is soggy stuff which soon disappears in the considerable amount of rain you get there in winter. If you want snow to play around in, you'll have to go to interior BC or the mountains. Of course, if you want several feet of the stuff accompanied by temperatures well below zero and nice wind chills, try Manitoba or Saskatchewan.

I was on the phone to my wife in calgary last night when I realised we had over an inch of snow (i.e. a British blizzard) in Hertfordshire!
The kids would be going mad if she told them, they travel all the way to Canada and the snow's at home!

Hooray - we have NO snow! It was 17 degrees in Regina yesterday -- long may it last. You can keep the snow! I took this photo yesterday afternoon as I sat on my deck reading a book! And before anybody asks - I moved the trampoline frame down the end of the garden for the winter.

It snowed here in Wicklow Ireland today aswell. The mountains are all white. Reminds me of N Vancouver.

For our first Christmas in Kamloops ('05), there was no snow on the ground at all. Subsequent years have been white though.

I doubt you'll be saying that if you ever have to drive the Sea to Sky highway in winter.

Thats the thing... you only get snow once out of Vancouver. Ive had 3 white knuckle rides up to Whistler in the past. Love it when the snow plough goes past you on the other side and dumps 20 feet of snow on your windscreen!
