Only another five months of it.

I broke out my garden hosepipe and cleaned my car this afternoon. Unbelievable weather.

I went out into the back garden earlier for a bit of fresh air and discovered dandelions in flower, the maple tree in bud and the honeysuckle sending out new shoots... in January ... something weird with this weather this year.

Overnight snow has created Julie Christie in Dr Zhivago on a couple of the deck posts this morning

I tore my rotator cuff like that, and it took 2 years before I got it fixed. A smashed leg/ankle and several more ops were also a result of ice. If you don't have cleats on, (and even with them you can fall), all you can do is squat a little to lower your centre of gravity, and try to keep your balance without flinging your arms out. Whatever it takes to keep from splitting your head open is worth doing.

That was interesting, thanks. However, for the barn we have good boots and tend not to slip, it's shoes that are acceptable in an office that lack traction on the driveway. I know I could carry a change of shoes but I'm reluctant to end up like the women one sees in lifts; computer bag, shoe bag, lunch bag, handbag, gym bag all dangling off a puffy coat - the result is too wide for the door.

We got the snowstorm today after all. A rare occasion I had to be out in it.

One of the deck post knobs now looks like Jeannie. I wonder if she'll grant me a wish or three.

Cloudy and 9 degrees.

Not looking like much of a winter this year, if this trend keeps up for the next month, we may just see an early spring and blooms.

Super windy here today, some ice particles dropping from the sky.. it's not winter as we know it though - hope this doesn't mean spring will be delayed til May.
