Just got some info for this new company FYI-

Daft choice of name as it's also the name of a model aircraft maker.

Not sure I'd want to spend that long on an antique sardine can.

The 747-300 kit it will be using is very old. The planes will be cozy. They are talking 470-543 seats. By way of comparison, a British Airways 747-400 holds 329 max.

I flew on AC yesterday. I'm happy to report that, after umpteen tries, I still haven't been on an AC flight that was on time. The staff were as officious as ever. Britflights looks as an attractive alternative to me.

From their website, To begin exploring Britflights’s exciting list of destinations please choose a city from the drop down menu or from the map above

Problem is they only fly from Gatwick to Vancouver or Toronto and return.

I'd hardly call that an exciting list of destinations.

I feel your pain. We had the dubious pleasure of using them for an Ottawa-Puerto Plata trip over the hols. The woman kicked off the flight before takeoff (pissed) doesn't know how lucky she was.

Wasn't there a company recently who appeared on the interweb , and then disappeared just as quickly, offering flights to Canada from the UK?

I'm too lazy to search

An attempt to relaunch Zoom, IIRC.

This new one has got disaster written all over it. I give it six months.

You are probably right , I suspect.
Shame though, Zoom was a decent low cost carrier.
Weren't there suspicions of dodgy dealings by a credit company that eventually caused the cash flow problems?

seem to recall something along those lines.

Dunno, but couldn't that be down to all that space first class and business class takes up?

Maybe she knew something nobody else did. :sneaky:

The absence of first and business class will make a difference, I agree. I'm still prepared to bet that the planes will be cramped, however.

The broad had probably heeded the instruction to arrive at the airport three hours in advance. There isn't much to do in Ottawa airport when you have two hours and 45 minutes to kill.
