For those of you who play, or used to play back in the UK and are interested The Alberta Netball Association is hosting the 34th Canadian National Championships this weekend at SAIT. Teams from QC, ON, BC, AB, NB will be competing in the Main Gymnasium on Saturday and Sunday.

Oh wow didn't even know the game was big here!

Used to play for county for a long time and even dare I say it had England trials at Lilleshall - didn't make it by a mile but was probably one of the proudest moments in my life!


(Mind you that was back in the day when the game was played in 2 halfs etc! and I couldn't run a bath now let alone a netball court!)

You have a slightly shorter 5ft 5 GS here - however my strength was not so much leaping above some of these wallopping great defenders more so the ability to get the ball on the edge of the D, lean way back and pop em in from miles away!!!!!

You can lean as much as you like but if its going in its going in!!!!

never to late MMC get out there and start playing,

lol I did think about joining a - ahem - seniors team not long before we decided to come to Canada.

Then one day was pi****g about with Mr MMC and we were throwing a ball back and forth (I was trying to get him to do an over head pass to see if I still had the whole jump / catch / turn / running pass ability)

Turns out I didn't and needed to go for a sit down, ciggie and a rum and coke Spent the rest of the day lamenting that "In my day I was actually quite good - y'know" He just looked at me with that "yeah whatever darling" look

You can bloody laugh I was mortified lol

so no netball on our road trip then eh
