Not sure if this is the right forum for my question but hopefully someone will move it if not - so here goes...
Any thoughts, experience or advice appreciated..
Our spousal sponsorship is in, hoping it will be finalised before september and we are going to spend the summer at our new home in Canada once my teenage kids finish school for the summer break.
What would happen if we stayed beyond our return ticket date (1st September) I'm thinking mainly with the British Education Authority. If our visas are not through by then?
Maybe the idea is crazy but I wonder if anyone else has been in this situation with school age kids?
Naturally I don't want to keep them out of school for too long but want to avoid flying the kids back and forth with the added expense..

In southern alberta nobody would blink an eye I don't think, but this is such a big country which I have seen very little of, so not sure if it's the same for everywhere. Homeschooling here is huge, and I have heard that it's pretty common wherever you go, so I wouldn't have thought it would be a big deal.
