Swiss Chalet is great, the menu is boring and if you ate there a lot you'd get fed up really quickly but the fries are generall excellent and the chicken is good too. Cheap as chips to boot!

In Canada I found most restaurants poor unless they were serving North American cuisine. Even the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown (Toronto) were trying to poison you, that's if they weren't trying to overcharge you with their dodgy written receipts.
And of course, cuisine in London is world class. Should try Vancouver. World class restaurants abound.

My son took me to Nandos last night here in the UK (my first time). I've got to say that I probably wont be looking for them when I get to Canada
