David Byrne with St Vincent on Saturday 20th - should be interesting.
Still pondering about getting tickets for Muse in February, haven't looked yet how much they are.
Our friends got us a leaving present of open passes for the Vancouver Improv Festival (ViiF) later this month, anyone knows if it is good? Any recommendations who to go see, we don't really know anyone on the programme.

For those who like Plastikman and are in Toronto, this would be 'rude not to'. I don't much like being rude so am certainly going.

Not sure now, but thought we'd give it a go! Anyone else going?

Hubby and daughter went last night - said they were both really good! But not impressed at 2 beers ( half pint ish) And 2 pretzels at $25!

Shame it was at Rogers Arena. Me and HID saw Liam's band at the Commodore and that was plenty big enough. Beers were $6.00 although you don't really need a drink as you get quite the passive buzz off all the Mary Jane that was being smoked.

Saw Saint Etienne this week at The Opera House, Toronto The new album is pretty good, Sarah Cracknell is still incredibly hot but can't sing for shit, and the boys in the background still lacking in any kind of charisma. $25.00 well spent.

Re: The Music/Gigs Thread
Springsteen Oct 19 & 21. Ottawa & Hamilton.
Back of the pit both nights. Superb.
Was thinking of doing Rochester next week, but prudent to go to work and pay utility bills.
Hell of a weekend though.

Noel Gallagher - meh! OK, I s'pose. He was on stage too long for my liking.
Snow Patrol - brill! Not many people there really, and it was small-ish venue anyway. I know I'm potentially an old fart, but it really was too loud. Turn down the bass Mr Light-and-Sound fella, just a little bit - it was sometimes distorted and the vocals were drowned. But I enjoyed it.
I'm finding gigs/concerts in Calgary mostly a disappointed on the sound front. The Saddledome is a crap arena, accoustically. The Corrall last night was marginally better (just deafening - reminded me of the old days when your chest and fillings vibrate!). Jubilee is good for sound, but small and no-one decent goes there.

+1 regarding the sound quality in Calgary - the sound quality at the corral for the Wiggles last year was truly awful, distorted and not very clear at all
