So what does the forum really think? Is multiculturalism a good thing? A bad thing? A no-thing?

Am I an idealistic fool to think one day we could just accept each other as people and live 'together in perfect harmony'?

No: that's the ideal we strive for.

We may never live in perfect harmony, but I believe we have to thbnk and act as if one day we will.

That begs a question. Do all people strive to live in harmony with all other people? I suspect not, while religions continue to exist.
