Hey go to Tesco and buy one of their DVD players the one that is 17 quid, it is 110 - 240 volts and I found a free crack for it to make it multi region and it works, so all you will have to do is put a new plug on when you take it

Bought a couple of cheap multi regions from Futureshop , with varying results (picture quality, crappy remote controls etc) and one of them packed up.

I then splashed out a whole $100 for an upconverting Phillips HDMI model and got the hack from the videohelp website (entered using the remote - a piece of cake) now got a great picture and multi-region.

Now I am going to upset all the people who sold their original UK DVD player.

I brought over my 240VAC theatre system wired an extra 240VAC socket into the wall. Swapped the Region 2 to multiregion, plugged it into my 240VAC 40 inch CRT and hey presto. Didn't have to buy a thing except a socket, 20 feet of cable and a new 240VAC MCB. Cost approx $60 bucks.

I regularly watch my Rogers cable box through the system and have had no problems whatsoever for the last two years and I don't expect to get any.

Try and buy equipment that can operate with both NTSC and PAL if you intend to do this. If you don't understand, then go to Walmart, the units are almost being given away.
