The Great Wall.
Spectacular. Good fun. Old fashioned. Scary.
I really enjoyed that.

Very like LOTR in terms of the scale of the battle scenes.

They do make movies like this anymore.

Thank you for the "Having You" recommendation I will give it a try.

Last night I watched "Rush" which was the Nicci Lauder/James Hunt F1 tale. I thought it was one of the most enjoyably watchable films I've seen in a long time. My son, and husband both enjoyed it too. Sadly if I like a story they generally don't, they prefer more violent action or sci-fi. It was nice to find a film that ticked all our boxes.

Rush was good, watched it last night, thanks I would not of watched otherwise as car movies sometimes have too much car or too much women, This was a perfect compromise

Thank you for the recommendation...son seems to have turned into a petrol head when I wasn't looking. We will look for Senna tomorrow.

Theres just been a film on about Steve McQueen making a film in Le Mans about F1...it was utterly dreadful, mortifying.

This is another "they do make them like this anymore" gem of a movie.

It's from 2011, black and white and silent. A great companion piece to Singing in the Rain.

It's funny, beautiful, has some glorious and clever scenes and you will absolutely love the dog.

An Oscar winner. I never knew.

"Hidden Figures" 2016

10/10 story is about segregation of 3 female mathematicians and their work at NASA in the 60's

Want to see that. One of the actresses won the Oscar, I believe.

While not a great fan of Trainspotting - it had it's moments, not all of them pleasant  - I did enjoy it. Much more the second time, strangely.

So I thought I'd give T2 Trainspotting a go.

It's really very good. Many good scenes, especially the one like that in "Whatever happened to the Likely Lads" when Terry and Bob share a train compartment but don't immediately realise.

If you enjoyed the original, you'll enjoy this. Perhaps more.

Kong: Skull Island

Terrific stuff.

King Kong as it should be.

Great soundtrack too, as you'd expect with Vietnam war era rock.

Saw "The Journey" today at the cinema. Very good, excellent acting from the two main characters.

Bonus, a fat old lady came over and gave us shit for talking in the trailers. I was the model of self-restraint and decorum but my mate had a real Barney with her. Highly entertaining. :)

Couldn't they afford a properly stitched lampshade?

Their Finest.

I watched it tonight. It just oozes class. Exactly what you'd expect from the BBC.
