This is one of those films that I see highly praised everywhere and I just don't understand why.

Re: Movie Thread: TNG
I chaperoned for Split yesterday, believing it would be intended for a teen demographic, I had low expectations. Incredible performance by James McAvoy makes the movie worth the ticket+nachos price (and might leave you demanding an Oscar for him, as well as making comparisons with Hopkin's performances of Lecter).
My other recommendation from this weekend is Bone Tomahawk. Gritty, fun dialogue, western, slow in parts, intense, great cast, graphic. (And don't let the phrase "cannibalistic troglodytes" put you off watching it.) |

"I Daniel Blake" is a glum look at life on benefits in the north east
Lion was much better than I thought it would be as was Manchester by the sea |

Re: Movie Thread: TNG
I watched these recently:
Gone Baby Gone (Netflix) Around the midway point I was left in some confusion which was wrapped up at the end. But I felt the story telling leaving myself and my girlfriend both feeling we'd missed something wasn't great. The film overall was pretty good though. Split If I had known it was an M Night Shyamalan film then I wouldn't have bothered. I thought the film was good until the midway point where it went all supernatural and ruined what was a good story! James McAvoy's performance was really good though, you could see on his face the change from personality to personality! |

Was that the only SFW pic you could find when you googled?
I was looking for something suitable to paste the vacuum cleaner onto and there were quite a few like it but too big. I scrolled down quite a few images to find that smaller one and nothing remotely dodgy at all. Maybe not too many pornstars called Henry? Unlike when Henry gets replaced with some other names  |
