This is probably more TV than movie but it was a one off.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

A must see if you fancy a giggle.

I, Daniel Blake.

I always knew I got out (of the DWP) at a good time. Another couple of years and I'd have found it very hard to be able to find some good to do.

Not sure everyone is so willing to help each other though, as was portrayed.

Not one laugh or Ah Hah in Shepherds and Butchers, Coogan not at his funniest IMO.

Otherwise a great film

Good interview of Ken Loach by James O'Brien on LBC today.

Couldn't see how either actor or supporting actor stretched their acting abilities in either movie - Moonlight or Manchester ?!?!?

It was a little too black and white for me, the big bad job worths v the good old salt of the Earth unemployed. I think the situation is far more grey than this.

I think Mr Loach kind of hit the audience over the head with a hammer to get his less than subtle point across.

Certainly I would have expected confrontation scenes to have been more dramatic. It was way too tame for even my time there and I would expect the tension and anger to be far greater now as this happens more often and far tougher.

I liked the 'nice' woman in the job centre who gave him water.

That look around that she gave to see who might be watching or listening (and later got told off). I recognised that behaviour straight away.

It needed to be longer to get more meat on the bones

Untraceable (2008). 8/10

Not for the faint hearted or animal lovers.
