Nobody forced you to listen, IMHO his music was, until recent years, amazing and he will always be remebered for that more than anything else. If it wasn't to your tastes then fine, each to their own, I couldn't care less, I wasn't a huge fan but I appreciate his talent for what it was and I think you'll find yourselves in the minority but like I said thats my opinion.

There's a difference Gary Glitter was convicted and proved to be scum, I don't doubt Jacko was wierd and did things that just weren't right but I don't think he belongs in Glitter's league as to music, I can't honestly remember anything G Glitter did, nobody will mourn his passing as to Jacko just turn the radio or TV on, its all you hear, his music will be rembered forever, just like Elvis wether you want it to or not, sorry but thats the way it is!!

Every sporting event in North America is played to the sounds of Gary Glitter and Queen. Among nonces Gary Glitter is the Americas' most heard composer. Besides that his name is a synonym for a body part, that ought to put it in common use for a hundred years or so. No one is ever said to "like it up the Michael". Jackson does, of course, deserve to have something named for him, some sort of plastic aid perhaps.
As for the other comment you're quite right there, no augument, not the best thing to be famous for though
