Fabulous news, Rose, on both counts! Well done!

Gold medal well and truly deserved. Congrats.

I only started singing in my mid 20's, and that was in my church choir, where I was the youngest by about 40 years! Then I joined a couple of small local companies and performed in some musicals and stuff in my 30's - 40's.

I never heard of Sweet Adelines (although I knew of barbershop, quartets) til I was researching to come to Canada and looking for a group to join when I got here.

The thing is, most of us (me included) are not exceptional singers. Most have not had prior formal training, and many do not read music, but our motto is "ordinary voices making extraordinary music" And so it is!

And we have had the benefit of several internationally acclaimed coaches over the past couple of years.

We're having a membership drive in January .... Pass the word!
