Re: In London, UK
I'm in London every 6 weeks ago & my "local" is this place Old Fountain It's all a bit hipster & craft aleish but does a good variety of decent pints. To be recommended.

There are many more agonsingly hip places in that locale, gentrified and hipsterfied as it is. The Old Fountain does remain one of the places you can go for a pint or three on your own, be assured of a decent pint (& good food) and within stumbling distance of the hotel I stay in. And yes, I'd be happy to be there this grey and rainy afternoon too!

Re: In London, UK
On behalf of you all I shall seek a quality English pubbe and drink a quality pint for each and every one of you. Sporting my 12-day Chin Holiday scuffbeard (unwaxed).

Back on the Hallowed Soil of Canuckstan, I found some decent cheese over the weekend. Sobey's Sensations 5 year Canadian cheddar. Overpriced but actually pretty good.
This was tempered by getting some Armstrong Monterey Jack and thinking that wasn't bad either. Ten years ago I'd have fallen off my chair laughing at the idea of Monterey Jack being cheese, let alone good.
