Not at all, the poster said something along the lines of "science proves what it is paid to prove"... which sounds a bit too "conspiracy nut" to me.
Science proves that the Earth revolves around the Sun.

Interestingly, my more religious sister is a science teacher in a Catholic high school in England. I once asked her whether they taught creationism or evolution, and the answer was 'creationism, which is what we believe. Technically evolution is still actually a theory.'

They don't teach evolution at all?

Isn't your sister's job description an oxymoron?

As your sister is likely aware, Darwin proposed that evolution occurred after life had been kick started by a creator.

This is the risk isn't it. While some faith schools may encourage critical thinking and defer to science not all do.

Darwin did not really have an opinion on the origin of life, and was open to the possibility of life emerging out of non life.
However, let's also keep in mind that his theory was published 150 years ago. Chemistry and biology, as has the understanding of evolution, have come a loooooooooooooong way since then.

Not really, they also teach biology, chemistry and physics. Bunsen burners operate equally in faith and secular schools as far as I'm aware. I have no idea if she's aware of that, just thought she made an interesting point. Not saying I agree with her, because I'm not sure where my beliefs lie.

I went to Catholic Schools, years and years ago and we had assembly each day, RE almost every day, church, music, a private chapel and I recall being taught how to use a rosary.
The overall education was very good, in my middle school definately, but it was very religious.

I think she said that they cover it, but as a possible theory, not as fact.

If you can't figure that out I suggest you go back to that school you were talking about.

It's written in plain english and makes perfect sense.

If you can't think of examples of Science being misused or proven incorrect with the evolution of technology then you are a very easily led individual (which at this stage your posts make you sound).

The other is the truth as it is understood today. Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Esau and Jacob, and all that lot, are interesting stories, the point of which has been lost with the advance of scientific knowledge.

But that advance of knowledge is a gradual process - and as it continues to evolve, our understanding of evolution will improve too. I very much doubt that today's truth will ever be as ludicrous to future generations as the Genesis stories are to us, but that's the sort of continuum of knowledge that humanity has dealt with for millennia. If only writing had never been developed, oral history might have glossed over the more outlandish bits as knowledge improved...
Sorry confusing you with someone else I think... So if I get this straight you feel you benefitted from your religious school? but don't believe in god?
