Re: Kettles
We have an electric kettle with a base .......... I find those the most useful as you don't have a cord attached to the kettle if you want to pour boiling water somewhere not close to the socket. We make our own jams, and sterilise the jars by putting them in the sink and pouring boiling water into them ......... it got a bit dangerous to have a kettle with a trailing cord!
I also have a husband who fills the kettle full, even though I tell him constantly that a) it uses electricity, and b) a full kettle is too heavy for my arthritic hands

Re: Kettles
My husband doesn't put enough water in which I think is even more annoying. He puts the kettle on and I make the tea (apparently I make it better than he does) but when I get there, there is only enough water for 1 5 cups

Re: Kettles
I don't recall using a kettle. We did have one on the woodstove, for humidity and decoration, it'll be in the basement somewhere, but never for boiling..

I'm glad you brought this up, last year I lost 30lbs and had to buy new belts. They are mostly black. Losing weight is expensive you know, new trousers, new jeans, new shorts and new belts.

Re: Kettles
That happened to me ongoing in 1994. I had to buy new trousers and then two weeks later they were too big...repeat over 3 or 4 months. Unfortunately I discovered charity shops too late. If I'd known the stuff there was as good as I then discovered, I'd have used them until I settled.

Re: Kettles
After shelling out $650 for a 12 month membership at the local pool to get fit and lose weight, I can't afford new clothes. I supposed I could just walk around in my saggy arsed bathers and hope no one notices
