Re: Just in case you come back!!!

Before coming to Canada we stayed at my FIL. My son left behind (by accident) one of his 1st edition Harry potters books. When he realised he called his Grandpa to ask him to bring it when he came to see us. The reply was "oh yes I found it but I gave it away and can't possibly ask for it back".:frown: My son was not amused.

Neither did my dad:wub: I can always remember when they moved into their bungalow and mum was trying downsize. She found comics and newspapers that were over 30 years old all neatly wrapped up in the bottom of one of the cupboards.

No thank you.

But ironically enough the parents-in-law will be bringing the power tools with them to France when we meet up there in July.

Now that's what I call foresight.

Maybe one of those people asking what to put in their container would have room for them?

It's the same in France as in the UK (more or less).

How do you know you won't come back? Many people do. I am even thinking myself about 'what if we don't like it' etc.... :)

Think you totally missed the point. Hoarding a kettle and a toaster in case of one's return - as only a mother could do - very symbolic of holding on.

I agree thats true. My mom insisted I leave a few of my books on the bookshelf, all she said was..... we gonna pretend you're still around! I knew what she meant by this:wub:
