Where are you! If you are in the UK then yes the UK is very materialistic - where as if you are in Canada I would say that arent as materialistic by far!

I've not seen the show so I was taking it to mean the sort of attention seeking you get on internet forums (and of course Canadians are materialistic, everyone likes to have nice things, nice car, nice house, camera, laptop, phone, ipods etc)
