Pierre Poilievre isn't fat either. He's just a despicable person, even more so than Flaherty.

If I were a religionist, I'd think God had an off day, and hit the latter when he was aiming for Harper.

Let's be honest: Flaherty was just incompetent and very right wing, Pierre and Steve are pure evil.

Would anyone vouch for that?

I dunno...If I was entitled to vote and I lived in Calgary West I'd consider voting for Stephen Harper. "The man" seems to be quite a solid PM.

I have no natural political home either in Canada or the UK though.

Considering the less than right wing perspective of many mega posters on this forum, I think you may have started something here:

I don't have any political affiliation but I am not sure the hate for Harper and the conservatives. I can't say I noticed much of a difference in my day to day life with anything compared to when the Liberals were in power.

I find the the local and provincial decisions and parties have more direct affect on my life then federal government ever has.

Same in the US.

I can't vote in Canada so I am not overly concerned which party is in power though.

I think an awful lot of elections are won on the 'Lesser of Two Evils' ticket and the other cliche is 'you can't please everybody'.

While I am not a fan of Harper personally, I don't mind the party - I am all for the European trade deal he struck that will bring more goods into Canada from Europe, particularly cheese. I'm totally on board with that, I thought it was great.

Don't forget once signed the duty rates on German manufactured vehicles will eventually be eliminated and therefore BMWs, Audis, Mercedes and a few other EU manufactured brands will become cheaper
This will then force makers of vehicles to compete even more and hopefully all vehicles will be on a certain equivalency of reliability and costs.
