Manchester, England's wettest city, has on average 800mm of rain a year.

Vancouver has 1200mm... and it rains 166 days, on average, per year.

Bugger that!

Manchester gets close to 200 days a year and only 1400 hours of sun....Vancouver proper gets 130 plus around 1900 hours....

Jammy bugger. Still I'm looking forward to a weekend where I remember why I'm here and forget about crap expensive cheese and how annoying the locals are.

 Whats the deal with jet skis over here? Used to rent them in France, but I quite fancy having one to play on, Im just clueless about marine code and all that stuff, I usually operate the "if its bigger than me I'm getting out of its way code"

It's 38 outside right now, rivers are drying up, crops are dying of thirst - been quite the summer here to say the least.

My temp guage shows 26c right now. Perfect. I'm off to sit on the balcony with a cup of tea and watch the boats go by

I'm off to walk the dogs and then spend the rest of the afternoon sitting in the garden (again). It's another long weekend, so I expect to be doing a lot of that in the next few days.

Yup - garden, magazine, walk dogs later cos the rotund black one gets a bit over heated! Pride stuff tomorrow and Sunday - my house is festooned in rainbows, glitter and feathers!

The ocean breeze is lovely and much more environmentally friendly than AC. I guess I haven't assimilated enough yet :)

Tis a lovely day.

At the opposite end of the country, it's one of those days when we wish for AC. 28C+Humidity so humidex in the mid 30's. We spent all day with the kids at the yacht club pool where there is a very nice cooling breeze. Back home now and it's 26C in the kids bedrooms. Which isn't good.
