It's a glorified mp3 player, but I'm sure you already knew that.
We have one, a christmas gift gift from my son. It's sort of nice to be able to take you music with you in the car, we can plug it into the car audio system.
For us it is sort of redundant as the audio system in the car is a four disc CD changer that also plays mp3 files. I have no idea how many mp3's I can get on a CD but it's a hell of a lot of music, times four.

I used to have one of those in my Mk 1 Capri, didn't half pull the birds. Especially if I attached her to the rear bumber via a piece of rope.
Update on the iPOD, doobe doobe doobe doo dum tee dum.
I was convinced I'd broken the video screen, but it was just a piece of the white cover which had snapped off when I detached it with the kitchen knife and found it's way between the screen and the front perspex. Still awating the new battery.

Right while we are on the subject of this and for a complete techno phobe I have a 1st gen ipod shuffle, and the bit that protects the usb connector at the bottom has disappeared into the void of my house or probably been chucked away in a 'we won't need that when we're in Canada' moment.
Not gonna get a new ipod til we get over there and the shuffle is handy just for taking to work, my question is what would the bit i've lost be called so I can search fleabay for one?
Cheers in advance
Ps is now charging very well in my laptop and I thought i'd broke it - didn't realise you could do that thanks all (feeling a bit daft tho)

I got a blue piece of rubber with a tiny magnet on it that sprung out when I finally got it opened. I don't know where it was when it was in 1 piece, I just hope Apple put it in there because it looked good and for no other reason.

If the link above doesn't work for some reason, just search for "ipod shuffle cap" or similar.
Hope that helps.

I have an iPOD which I've ownd for 3 years and it has THREE YEARS, yes THREE YEARS of music collected from my CD's vi nals and computer downloads. 3,000 tracks of music and when I arrive in this cold land it DOESN'T WORK!
I've tried all sorts car, home (excuse me I have to stop my son and his new Canadian giggling 18 year old female from making so much noise) chargers and expensive European stuff and it doesn't work.
