When we were in NB we had a look around Douglas and were quite impressed with what we saw.
We especially liked the fact that the school was quite small. Our 6 year old daughter is in a rural school in the Uk which only has 55 pupils so we were concerned about 'throwing' her into a school of 300+.
Does anyone have any experience of Douglas Elementary school or any insights on Douglas itself.
I would love to hear all views.
Thanks, Julie

My son starts at Douglas in sept so we have only been to the school on a couple of occasions for info sessions but from first impressions the teachers all seem nice and there is a nice friendly atmosphere about the place. Best person to talk to on here is Helcol as their kids all go to Douglas.
Hope this helps,
Sinead

Hi
I am "resurrecting" this thread, as we are about to move to Fredericton and we quite like Douglas.
We have an 8 year old daughter, and we'd love to hear what you think of Douglas Elementary. It seems to be a lovely school, and we love the fact that it is so small. If your children go there, what do you think of the teaching? The atmosphere? The premises?
Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Dougls Elementary is a great school, my son just started there last September. The teachers all seem really good and nice and I also like the fact that it is a small school. However it may not remain open too much longer unfortunately which is a shame as it will be a great loss to the community. There is alot of money that needs to be spent on the building so there are currently talks going on about the future of the school.
If you are on Facebook there is a group setup for the school, its called Save Douglas School - Oldest Operating School in Canada.
