WITB, seems like a good benefit for those who qualify.

I also like to get the bulk of them in before the RRSP deadline in case It looks like I may owe money.
My partner got his first week of January. Mine have all been in February, which is fine but one employer decided to mail them all out on Friday - that’s the latest it’s ever been.
Probably a normal occurrence for non-profits

Hmmm...I also see that with written consent from employee they can send T4s via email.
I much prefer being able to access them online then waiting on the mail

Last year went to H&R Block who charged $461.66 for my self and wife's returns.
This year I did them with Turbotax for $62.13 and it was very easy and straightforward.
I even think it was better this year because Turbotax prompt you to see if it is worthwhile to split pensions and allocate sums between spouses etc, etc.
Will wait and see if all goes well with CRA in 10 days time when they say they will issue the assessment.

Re: Income Tax 'season'
After 3 years in Canada I learned a new thing about taxes today so sharing with others "still new comers". I arrived in Aug 2015 and didn't have a job untill teh end of teh year so I didn't file Tax Return for 2015 althourg Canada Revenue requires that and there is a line for entering your arrival date. So now in 2018 I discovered GST/HST tax credit which I was entitled to for 2015 (which would have been paid in 2016). So today I filed my 2015 Tax Return and applied for the GST/HST tax credit.
Few years back GST/HST credit application was part of income tax return forms, at least that's what some free tax software says. I use free STUDIO TAX for netfile
MOre on tax credit on Revenue Canada website:
If you are a new resident of Canada and you want to apply for the GST/HST credit, complete Form RC151, GST/HST Credit Application for Individuals Who Become Residents of Canada, for the year that you became a resident of Canada. Also, see Pamphlet T4055, Newcomers to Canada. To get the form and the pamphlet, visit the CRA Forms and publications page.

Got my 2017 assessment today. All OK.
My wife, however had a note saying she had exceeded her Taxfree " room" and "may" have to pay 1% a month every month until she reduces the taxfree GIC. Her GIC is for a 2year period and cannot be altered or cashed in.
I can only assume she will have to reduce next year's contribution to put things right.
Anyone had a similar experience ?
