I just wanted to add, seeing as there was a little confusion on the Red Seal and what it all means. Many Work Permits issued to someone that has to pass either the Red Seal or Equivalency are issued on the proviso that the WP holder passes that exam within a set time limit my hubby for example had just 3 months to pass his.

Yes PP we found out that CIC had called the exam board to get Mr MMC's results as they were doing the paperwork for the work permit extension at the time.
The long and the short of it is if he hadn't passed - they would not have issued the extension - we were that close to the whole dream being over.

lol we went to a friends house, sat outside around a fire pit drinking beer and eating pizza. Was a lovely way to celebrate

I know that tooth biting feeling soo well! Mr PP was advised to come out and take the exam as a 'mock'. We were not ready for the whole - move right now thing. He was issued a 3 month WP when he arrived at Calgary. He came home after a week, handed in his notice and booked a one way ticket. He failed the 1st exam - what do you expect with no studying really? We didn't get his second exam results until 3 weeks after the WP had expired, he was here on the 'Oh you can stay until we get the results through'. A little scary!
