No,I wasnt suggesting that. The article from the Telegraph that you posted is making something out of nothing:"wades into independence row".Come on thats bollocks.I was just pointing out how scottish she is ,she just doesnt play the bagpipes but competes at the world championships, plays golf and curling all scottish games, she has a calendar photo with a Saltire. It not hard to guess what she is going to vote for at the referendum. As I said she is just being diplomatic.By the way the Telegraph is sometimes known as the Torygraph in some parts of Scotland:)

You mentioned golf and curling as though those activities were proof of a distaste for the union. Can't blame her for hedging her bets. Is she a 90 minute nationalist?

Really the Telegraph is known as the Torygraph. Thanks for your special Scottish insight on that.

Private Eye will be pleased that some parts of Scotland have finally caught on.

Honestly, you would think the Scots were the only country to have bagpipes.

Or even that they invented them.

I prefer the phrase I coined upthread: "Latter Day Celts".

I celebrated my 50th birthday with the same group of friends I'd made when I was 30 and had been living in Southern California. My 30th birthday party was held in the desert east of San Diego and involved generators, booze, tents and electric guitars. I was the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist.

We all got together again 20 years later, this time in Baja California, where the drummer had settled in the meantime. The bass guitarist joined us from Hawaii, the lead vocalist from San Francisco, all with their kids (mine too).

The lead guitar, still living in the place we had all met 20 years earlier, showed up with bagpipes.

Incredible, but true.
